We understand that fact is subjective. We provide a signatory approach to our research-driven services by empathising with the context and gender. Research without action and contextual understanding is meaningless.
Our consultancy services mainly target women-owned micro-businesses that need support with market research, feasibility studies, management, and leadership planning. We also work with organisations that support micro-entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and leadership initiatives.
We also spend a great deal of effort in supporting women entrepreneurs in channeling their emotional intelligence and leadership skills towards their goals. Visit our Women Entrepreneurship Blog.
Our purpose is twofold. We support micro businesses to grow confidently and express the challenges and unique perspectives associated with a community from a developing country.
In a context where globalisation occurs, it is important to hear different communities’ perspectives and make global knowledge accessible to these communities.
Our speciality in research is that we are involved in niche research projects, facilitating knowledge exchange and creating information products that instigate transformation. We specialise in qualitative research and probe deep insights to develop best practices for our clients.
We work with individuals and organisations that aim to create impacts in the community through research.
We also promote our independent digital knowledge products. Visit our E-books section to witness wide-ranging practical insights on entrepreneurship.
Our entrepreneurship training projects are designed through facts derived from needs assessments to ensure the best outcomes for our beneficiaries.
In the future, we aim expanding our research driven consulting works to the emerging countries in the South Asia through collaborations and business diversification.

About the founder
Hello there! I am Mathangie. I am the founder of ‘The Researchpreneur’. I have been into research and consulting since 2017 and have worked with various micro and women-led businesses through my previous company ‘NORO Solutions’. I re-branded the business in 2023 as ‘The Researchpreneur’. I believe the term ‘The Researchpreneur’ resembles more of my work and personality and does justice for anyone who wants to be a knowledge-based entrepreneur.
This has been a challenging yet rewarding journey as a micropreneur who has worked on multiple research and training projects (see the portfolio page). I have also trained over a hundred women entrepreneurs through American Corner Jaffna, funded by the US Embassy in Colombo. I have a master’s degree in business administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, BA (Hons) in Business Administration from Staffordshire University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from SLIM.
For me, entrepreneurship is more than just a tool of economic empowerment. As an independence-craving person, I have always loved the financial independence that comes with it. I have also connected to people with similar values and have helped, been helped, inspired, and inspired by many. In the meantime, challenges have made me dive deep into myself, and this process has connected me to the most authentic self of who I truly am.
I have spent most of my life in Jaffna, Northern Province of Sri Lanka. As a child, I witnessed the consequences of civil war in this context, and the scars are still left with the people. This has made previous generations of people live in fear and with a great deal of uncertainty. Starting a business has not been a norm, as many parents want their children to get a secure job. This attitude is still common. This is why entrepreneurship is not considered a career option, especially for women.
However, there is a progressive transformation in this attitude. Many youngsters prefer entrepreneurship. Many women-led families in the North are forced to stick to home-based businesses, as they are the only viable livelihood options. Women who are in solo businesses thrive within a limited network. Through my experience, many micro and solo entrepreneurs have great products yet struggle to market them. It is either due to a lack of research or their lack of understanding of target markets. They also need more confidence to grow out of their comfort zones. Through my consulting work and training, I have addressed these issues. Explore our services here.
Through this platform, my e-books reflect my thoughts and experiences and authentic expressions of contextual understanding. You will also find qualitative research reports from our team. Visit the E-books section.
